In this painting I depicted the celebrating Pride Month in Rockefeller Center, more than 100 flagpoles to display uniform Pride flags, around the iconic skating rink and the Weather Room at Top of The Rock, creating one of Midtown Manhattan's most prominent public displays as their annual tradition.

The day I was standing there under the pride flags in a sun-dappled afternoon, juxtaposed against a backdrop of rainbow banners, the Maiden represents humanity evolving, her outstretched palm, originally sculpted to receive the gift of fire, now appears to welcome a new dawn of diversity and pride, and the people, all of them around me feeling so alive. makes me feeling delighted and pretty, such the joyful celebratory energy of New York City.

As the sun beamed through in dappled patches on the flags, I convey the scene hovering between documentation and dream, with paint dappled light filtering through the flags area with my luminous palette, using loose, expressive brushwork to capture everything in that beautiful moment of our connection with the rainbow flags on my canvas.
