I painted Delicious Solitude, a work originally created by English post-impressionist painter Frank Bramley. The woman reading in the scene was both his fellow artist and his wife, Katherine Graham.

By the early 1890s, Bramley had moved away from his earlier systematic square brushwork, adopting a looser, more painterly style with a brighter palette and rich, impasto textures. I found inspiration in every brushstroke as I studied and recreated this piece.
