This painting I studied is by the French Impressionist Berthe Morisot. As a woman and an artist in the 19th century, she was a pioneering figure in the Impressionist movement, working alongside Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
I love her use of light, unrestrained brushstrokes, and subtle color harmonies, which vividly reveal the complexity of this interior scene. This study has been quite an inspirational experience.
