Watercolor Sketches

My watercolor sketches are quick plein air studies, capturing memorable scenes in the moment. Some serve as color and value studies, while others are composed in the studio to explore composition, lighting, and color combinations for an oil painting.

Sketching loosely with watercolors allows me to freely record ideas and capture a sense of movement. It’s my preferred method of preparing for a painting, giving me the flexibility to experiment and refine my vision.
